Some times all we want to do is jump and bounce!
When this feeling takes hold of you, find a wide open space in nature and explore how high you can bounce, how long you can jump or how fast you can run. Our bodies are made for moving in all sorts of ways. Let your body leap and bound and dig.
Scout & the Gumboot Kids found another creature who loves to do this as they solved The Case of Quiet Diggers.
“Do the bu-bu-bu-bu-bunny dance,
like you’ve go-go-go-got
ants in your pants.
Do the bu-bu-bu-bu-bunny dance,
like you’ve go-go-go-got to dance.
Do the bu-bu-bu-bu-bunny dance!
Hop with me, hop with me.
Bounce with me, bounce with me.
Do the bu-bu-bu-bu—bunny dance! ”
Our bodies are made to move but are also made for quiet observation. When you have done all the jumping and bouncing that you need to do, find a place to sit comfortably and close your eyes. Lets observe with our ears.
Can you hear the wind? Are the birds singing? Can you hear the ground crunching under you? Remember all that you have observed and then draw a picture from what you heard. What an interesting way to take in the beauty of nature! CLICK HERE for a printable to use.
We would love to see your creations! Post on Facebook or Instagram and tag @gumbootkids.
Scout’s Mindful Moment…
“Bunnies are very quiet creatures & have big ears to listen. Can you be like a bunny? Be very quiet and listen to the sounds around you.”
