Forests are full of amazing creatures. If you keep your eyes and ears open you just might meet one. Often the animals are very busy making and maintaining their homes. Next time you are out on a nature walk, collect some leaves and sticks to make a home for an imaginary animal. Lay the items that you collect on the ground and arrange them to make a house. What kind of animal would live in the house you built? Would they like it to be soft, sturdy, cozy or roomy? Let your imagination soar.

Even busy
little beavers

need a break
to just sit & stare
up at the big blue sky.

Scout’s Mindful Moment…

“Beavers love to be busy and they love to build. Next time you are busy playing or working on a project, take a minute to check in with yourself. How do you feel? Do you need to rest or stretch? Have a drink of water? It’s important to listen to your body and notice how you are feeling. Especially when you are busy. Take a break!”
